  1. Edit: The patch which was just released has fixed this for me. I've encountered a bug in 1.0 that I have not seen in previous versions. My audio is acting very strange. It's hard to describe, so I've included a video. You'll notice the strange audio clipping when I pick up items, and also during the second half of the video when I listen for the impact of the plasma balls. I'm using a Razer Kraken USB headset, with the latest drivers. In Razer Synapse, I have tried setting Reflex to use 2.0 Stereo and 7.1 surround, but both yield the same result.
  2. I had an idea for an extremely low graphic setting for very low-end computers like the one I'm stuck on right now. I was testing out my FPS, and on maps with little or no meshes and effects, such as cpm22, the old thct2, thct7, and xy2, and I got around 125 fps. As expected, when I went to maps with more detail, my fps dips considerably, sometimes below 60 on maps like dp5. I then deleted all of the meshes and effects in dp5, made the fullclip brushes use a stone material instead, and got my 125 fps back. So I had the idea of a graphic setting which would remove all meshes and effects from a map, leaving only the brushes. One major issue with this would be that many brushes are just clipping planes and walls would become invisible once the outlining meshes are removed. A way to fix this would be to set the material of clip brushes to a something else (as I did), but that could then lead to z-fighting issues where clipping planes overlap existing brushes. As I said, this is just an idea. I do not know if it's possible to disable meshes altogether or adjust the material of brushes without altering the map file. If possible, it would be a nice option for those unable to get a consistent 125fps. It would also allow for an entirely clutter-free setting for top-level competitive play.
  3. I'm running on a laptop with an Intel i5 3210M, 6 GB of RAM, and a Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics. I understand that it is pointless to try to cater to every hardware spec from the last 10 years, but I just wanted to get my thought out there. While I agree that a brush which contains near the same detail as a mesh would be far less efficient, meshes do have a significant performance impact. I placed about 5 of the large rock spire meshes on cpm22, and my fps went from 125 to about 80.
  4. *UPDATED 11/30/15* A medium sized duel map with a cave theme and a lava river as the centerpiece. Can also be played in small FFA or 2v2 games. I'm pretty happy with where the map is right now. I've added all the 0.37 assets now. You can download on reflexfiles here.
  5. Yeah, I agree there needs to be more visual diversity. I'm trying to maintain an almost entirely natural theme, with minimal 'man made' structures. The only constructed things right now are the stairs, and the broken wooden planks by the mega. That's part of the reason behind no teleporters. I couldn't see them in an undergorund cave (granted many maps don't justify teleporters thematically), and I only have jumppads where lava meets water, so as to provide a steam vent which boosts the player. So I'm not sure that I want to put concrete structures in, but there does need to be something to make the visuals more interesting. Unfortunately, I don't see myself having much time to work on the map over the next few weeks.

  7. I'm not sure if it's just me, but the guns sounds in 0.37 are way too loud right now. I know they changed them so they they're not lagging behind the player anymore, which is great, but I can't hear anything when I'm firing any gun. It's particularly a problem with the ion cannon and plasma rifle because of their high rate of fire. They're so loud, that I can't even hear if someone has picked up an item in the middle of a fight, and I also have difficulty hearing where my opponent is if I'm spamming out an area with rockets for example. Does anyone else have this problem, or is it some sort of fault in my sound setup?
  8. We were playing on bdm3, and both went through the lower tele at the same time. However, instead of telefragging someone, this happened - https://youtu.be/u5gP5sFbXew Neither of us could move or hit the other person with non-area of effect weapons. It is worth noting that the person I was playing against was on an unstable 130+ ping and was warping around.
