Lag/Disconnects From Official Reflex Servers?

44 posts in this topic

If you are getting lag, disconnects, or high ping on any of the official servers, please provide some of the information below to help us identify issues.

  • Date & Time (Estimates/Approximations are fine)
  • Server IP (Can be found in your console when connecting)
  • MTR/Traceroute (MTR would be best, it can be downloaded from http://winmtr.net/winmtr_download/)
  • Your Internet Provider, IP Address, and Geo-Location. (Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post it publicly)

Keep in mind not all network issues can be resolved from my end. If the route is having issues on your ISP's side, I can reach out to them but no guarantees.

How to perform a traceroute.

Windows

  1. Open the Start menu
  2. Click on Run
  3. Type cmd and then press the OK button to open a command prompt
  4. At the prompt, type tracert SERVERIP and press the Enter key
  5. To copy the output, right-click anywhere in the window and select Mark. You can press Enter to copy all of the output, or select the text you want to copy and then right-click with your mouse. Paste the copied text by hitting CTRL + V.

Linux

  1. Open a terminal window
  2. Type traceroute SERVERIP at the prompt and press the Enter key

Mac OS

  1. Go to Applications -> Utilities -> Network Utility -> Traceroute
  2. Type the domain or IP address in the appropriate input field and press Trace. You can also open a terminal window and use the same instructions as you would for performing a traceroute in Linux.

EDIT: Turns out this happens to every server, not just official ones. Definitely on my end then.

Server might have crashed because it just dropped me out mid game.

My net didn't drop out because I was still in voip with some friends.

The console returned this error

client: server stopped responding

client: disconnected

Servers in Brazil are having lot of pikes, 5-6 per minute at worst, i'll try to gather some information about them.

Yeah, the Brazilian matchmaking servers are suffering some serious lag for some time now.

Can you guys look into it?

We seem to be copping it in Australia now too -- not disconnects but bad lag affecting both players.

Made some changes to the AUS machines, let me know if that resolves it.

I seem to have an issue with any MM server, when i play on regular servers like Noobshleuder i get no problems but as soon as i play Ranked on a MM server (anywhere) i get random spikes every 10 secs or so of huge pl and ping which make the game unplayable, make my opponent get mad and sometimes just dc me.

This is critical since it's the game's release. :(

Lets hope it doesn't damage the "South-American" Community too much. It was already hard to find a game on releaseday and when i finally found one it was literally unplayable. I hope i will be able to have a few decent Duels at least..

They seemed good tonight, thanks. During map picking we couldn't see which maps we were voting on, but I'm guessing that's a broader problem unrelated to the game servers, because I also didn't have access to any of my custom items, & the 'player receives x competitive points' messages instead read 'player receives x item730' or something like that. Gameplay was lag-free as far as I noticed.

New Brazil location will be live shortly, shooter expects to push it in a few hours. Please report back with the results so we know if this is a better change for you guys.

Yes, the new BR servers are stable with low ping and no lag spikes at all.

Thank you! For real! :D

Let's give a round of applause to Mercano for worrying about the South America experience in Reflex and took the initiative in reporting the issue.

Thanks, buddy!
