Reflex Demos from Official Matchmaking Servers

10 posts in this topic

Nice! The matchmaking is great, and this makes it even better.

Is it an idea to set the 'Last Modified' header to the file creation date for the .rep files? This seems not to be set as far as I could figure out (or it's set to the current time). For synchronisation with for example wget, this would things make a whole lot  more efficient.

I asked my friend to write some Javascript to sort the replays by date, which makes it easier to use Ctrl + F to scroll down and look for your (marked!) replays. In his own words it is 'quick and dirty' at the cost of using a lot of RAM, but he's an old-school hardcore genius programmer that is a little obsessive about using as little RAM as possible. Here it is.

o = document.querySelector("table"); b = Array.prototype.slice.call(document.querySelectorAll("tr"), 0).sort(function (a, B) { var sa = a.querySelector(".m").textContent; var sb = b.querySelector(".m").textContent; return (sa > sb) - (sa < sb); }); var t = document.createElement("table"); for (var i = 0; i < b.length; i++) { t.appendChild(b); }; o.parentNode.appendChild(t); o.parentNode.removeChild(o)

This forum software is annoying as fuck and is converting 'b)' to an emoji and I can't see a way to stop it from doing that, or how to insert text as a code snippet or anything useful. So just replace it by hand or use this: https://www.hastebin.com/ohituremiw.js

In Chrome use Ctrl + Shift + I and click on the 'Console' tab, and run the code in there. No doubt this is just a temporary solution until we can get something more like http://reflexleague.org/replays which lets you search by name, map, etc.

I think the forum killed the formatting as it didn't work as you posted it.

I found what you posted in the Discord which didn't get murdered and hosted it on pastebin ova here http://pastebin.com/raw/ENeYTpdm

Odd - I can see it in my post. I just changed the font to courier so it looked a bit more appropriate. Thanks for searching Discord and finding that though :)

edit: Fixed the formatting now so it should work properly, thanks @Nathan!
edit edit: no i haven't, because apparently I can't. Blargh!

This patch has been active for about a week, but the replays are sort-able natively now.

Syntax:

?C=N name (default)

?C=M last-modified, then by name

?C=S size, then by name

?C=T type, then by name

?C=D type, then by name

and O=[AD] can be added for descending or ascending order, e.g.

?C=N&O=D descending (default)

?C=N&O=A ascending

Just append the variable you wish to use to the end of the URL. Such as:

http://replays.reflexarena.com/?C=M (Sort by date)

http://replays.reflexarena.com/?C=M&O=A (Sort by date, ascending)

File naming needs to be tied to Steam, not game.  Impossible to know who is who in a mountain of demos.

Could go both ways, though. Since some people's steam IDs are different than their in-game nick names.

I would add, though, that it'd be nice to have race demos include the time in the file name. Would be of infinite help to moviemakers!

Just to match the leaderboard.  Fuck it, put both on there.
