GoaHud - Minimal Animated HUD

I decided to create a HUD that should look good while keeping it minimal. Most of the UI elements have a slight fade in/out animations that should not hinder the competitive play, and they can be fine-tuned or disabled if they bother you.

Really nice hud ! Nice tf2 vibes :D

One thing I wish is that weapon rack somehow would indicate which weapon is currently active. But overall really like it :)

Tiny update:

  • Added messages for Capture The Flag events
  • Added option to display player country flags in fragged messages and spectated player names
  • Spectator controls now switches back to player follow camera when attack key is pressed in free camera mode
  • Added customizable weapon rack glow for currently selected weapon
  • Weapon rack background color is now customizable
  • More fragged message options for displaying killer name ("You", killer name, and killer name while spectating)
  • Fragged message and spectated player name supports Q3-style colored names when available (requires EmojiChat)
  • HUD should now show properly in arena/team based games while spectating

Have had the HUD one day and an update with this comes out the next day: "Added customizable weapon rack glow for currently selected weapon"

Just a tiny maintenance update before I start adding new stuff:

  • Fixed a rare case where WeaponRack would randomly disappear with custom melee weapons
  • Corrected math for scaling zoom sensitivity based on zoom FOV
  • Removed countdown option from RaceTimer
  • Removed experimental LagTimer widget
  • Fixed attempts to render EU country flag which doesn't exist in the game assets
  • Changed few variable names and reordered options items

Some things I'm currently developing:

  • Timer will receive more customization options in the future (options to display absolute frag counter(s) vertically or horizontally).
  • Custom colored crosshairs.
  • Experimental Chat widget (with timestamps, working chat history, and EmojiChat support when available)
  • Experimenting with a secondary timer optimized for tracking pickup times. Works the same way as regular timer but counts up, is larger and more visible by default. I also might experiment with more features that promotes visibility aspect of the timer like flashing with different colors when any major items are picked up (and only when they are picked up)

bugreport:

if two people are in warmup mode in a duel, and 3 people are spectators. it says "0/5 ready" instead of "0/2 ready"

small request: 

can you make your hud hidden when scoreboard comes up?

Hi mate, excellent HUD!

Only nitpick I have is when I use the zoom function it pops my scoreboard up as well regardless of what either function is bound to key-wise.

Any idea what might unfuck that?

What other widgets do you have installed and enabled?

Can you type what bind <your zoom key> returns in console?

New update! (Game restart is required after updating)

  • Added new experimental chat widget (not enabled by default)
    • Supports few different fonts including default chat font
    • Supports color codes and emojis (requires Kimi's EmojiChat)
    • Timestamp with or without seconds
    • Chat beep can be configured to not beep during a match, and to beep only for team messages
    • Displays lua errors!
    • Lua developers: consolePrint messages can be shown in chat with ui_goahud_chat_debug 1
  • WeaponRack: Remove ammo for melee weapons
  • Frag Messages: Supports emojis with Kimi's EmojiChat
  • Messages: Possible fix for disappearing messages/frag messages
  • Zoom: Fix showscorescursorhook resetting back to none when menu is opened during zoom
  • Crosshair: Hide crosshair in free spectator camera mode

Hotfix:

  • Improved chat beep options
  • Fixed ui_goahud_chat_debug value not sticking after game restart/reload
  • Fixed Chat getting hidden in game over screen and map editor
  • Fixed official crosshair widget preview in options not working with error hooks

Another bug fix update:

  • Fixed Chat and Messages breaking when someone received an item drop
  • Fixed vector crosshair shadows always being enabled
  • Fixed blurry crosshair preview in options
  • Fixed empty gap before player names in fragged messages when player has no country specified

"Hotfix":

  • Improved Crosshair settings, no more decimals allowed in values
  • "Pixel perfect" rendering of cross type crosshair (no more blurriness) reflex_2017-04-26_03-29-21.png

  • Added option to toggle extra dot for cross (type 3) crosshair

Hi, is it possible to have options to change the font for the rest of the hud (just like how you have it in your chat widget)? That would be awesome!

I might gradually enable custom font support for various widgets. Which widgets font you want to change?

Big update:

  • Added another timer widget (TimerBig) which only counts up (experimental, not enabled by default)
  • Added auto updater for GoaHud (enabled by default)
    • Also lists addons requiring update in Main Menu screen
  • Chat is no longer experimental (enabled by default)
  • Separated FragMessages to separate widget, and make it movable
  • Removed ugly background options from timer widgets
  • Replaced 'Enable GoaHud' checkbox with buttons to quickly turn GoaHud widgets on and off
  • Widget enable checkboxes are no longer grayed out
  • Fixed default anchor of RaceTimer
  • Fixed shadow options not being grayed out when shadows were disabled
  • Fixed modules enabled state not getting saved properly
  • Fixed AccelMeter breaking after 1.1.1 update

I was mostly thinking Game Messages and Frag Messages - but I would probably use Health and Armor if I could change the font on them too.

I'd say all of them. I just think the default font looks awful and is hard to read. Sry, pls don't hit me papi.

More bug fixes:

  • Better fix for scoreboard popping up during zoom
  • Messages: Fixed wrong player ready count during warmup ("2/3 ready" in 1v1 match)
  • WeaponRack: Fixed Stake Launcher not showing up in competitive mode
  • Fixed drop-down list options not working properly

Hotfix:

  • Chat: Only play the item drop sound for cosmetic drops
  • Some old code accidentally slipped up into previous release (thanks Git 👍)

Hotfix2:

  • Fixed unable to change any settings in widget options
  • Removed decimals from Zoom FOV values

Hi this never happened before but for some reason now my settings for "chat beep sound" (e.g. enabled, disabled etc) keep resetting every time I restart my game. Any ideas?

Also this might be a stupid question but is it possible to re-position the following player indicator when you are spectating? I can't see an option for it

Are you closing the game properly or have you set your game.cfg to readonly?

There is no option for it right now. The reason for why I haven't made all the different messages movable is because they would clutter the options widget list very quickly if all the options were movable.

Smol update:

  • Added secondary customizable crosshair for weapons, enable Shape 2 from options and start customizing!
  • Added option to disable specific camera hook keys in BetterSpecControls
  • Hide join messages triggered by menu replay in chat (Erectro and Sektor are no longer hiding in your first server :ph34r:)
