    vst420 - Monastery

    vst420 - Monastery by Viscerated and MAD_JIHAD First-pass release of our new 1v1 map. We decided to release an official fully-functional version since it has received a lot of positive feedback and people want to play it. We'll further update it with better, more complete art, hence why this is just a first-pass official release. The art theme was partly inspired by dp8 and prdm3, so thanks to promeus, def and fht.     cpm3a port (Jan 13th update)

    Download Link on Reflexfiles.com Updates: Jan 13th 2016: Updated clips so they work as they did in cpma. (Headbump by jump pad is now possible and you can get on some lights) Added detail to the walls. (They are fullclipped so no funny nade bounces) Proper fullclips on the spotlight meshes. I started with a 1 to 1 port of cpm3a and ended up making only a few changes to adjust for player height. The goal was to keep to the aesthetic of cpm3a but simplify it as to retain a high contrast clean look with minimal visual distractions. Something to note, I will add slightly more detail to a few spots but it will look almost the same as it is now. Let me know if anything is messed up! The red armour ceiling is 8u higher and the jump pad is fixed so you don't bump your head. There is one spot where you used to be able to fall into the lava in cpm but in reflex your player is fatter so he doesn't fall in. I might change it later but it could be messy. All credit goes to the original creator Jude who made cpm3 and swelt who made the remix cpm3a.

    f14p2 (v1.8)

    f14p2 - Mausoleum (v1.8) http://reflexfiles.com/file/436 f14p2 is an original map created for Reflex with an emphasis on vertical game play. The map features an tri-atrium design and utilises the YA, YA, MH, RA item set along side 2 RLs, IC, BR, PR, GL and the SG. If possible the map will have an Gothic theme as the worldspawn seems suitable for that style. Play testing and feedback is much appreciated and assists greatly in improving the map.     Welcome to the Reflex Garbage Cup! Reflex's very own beginner's tournament. This week we learned that, if we stick together, good things will always follow! Week 6 Loser's Bracket Lowest Ranked 4 3 will play Bo3, winners from those will play Bo5 Gains title "Treasurer of Trash" Winner's Bracket Top Ranked 4 will play Bo3, winners from those will play Bo5 Gains title "Compost Commander" Week 7 FFA = Final Redemption 3 rounds of FFA! All players receive 1 point per kill. This affects final rank. (Not really, since the bracket is already finished. But it'll be fun, I think!) Overall winner receives title "Lord of the Landfill" Stalast has suggested getting rid of the final, where the winner from the Winner's and Loser's brackets go head to head to claim final victory. While I do think there is value in this system, Stalast's comments have made me realize that, for this particular tourney, it may just be better to run the final segment of the tournament like this: I would like to leave the Final (giving Loser's bracket a chance to reclaim victory) in future Garbage Cups, especially those that have more competitors and thus wider brackets. But as long as no one has any major objections, we will be following the second model. Doing it this way will afford us a little extra time, and spare those of us in the bottom 3 a hefty plate of public embarrassment. Please post any suggestions or comments to this thread.   8. Overdrive 1v1 Tournament [EU] Recently Reflex received an new map known as Overdrive or more commonly f14p1 created by Ivor 'F14m3z' Weatherill. Largely inspired by cpm24 it offers an unique layout and exhibits the games new industrial visual style. The map features one mega health, one red armour and two yellow armours however it differs greatly from many original Reflex maps in the way that it plays. In order to thoroughly test the map and determine its suitability for competitive play I'm hosting this tournament and inviting a number of talented European players to compete.   9. So after the mapping section we did for the birthday bash event it whet my whistle to give mapping a go myself and this is the result. After an extraordinary amount of reworking over the course of an entire week with help from: Nathan, Promeus, Warlord Wossman, Tehace, Qualx, Greth, Tepes, Neeple, GMT, Danskq I finally feel like this is the first releasable version. It's still a work in progress Visuals will be done at some point if it takes off and there is still some aspects of game play changes I might fiddle with. Reflex Files link I've got various old versions of the map and intend to do a full write up/video of the learning process and hopefully this can form some sort of guide for new map makers. The intention behind this process was to understand map balance and map making rather than necessarily make a really competitive map.     The new version will be available within next patch and is currently playable on some hosts as thcdm13pro. I dont have a firm date of when that might happen tho. BONUS: HAL_9000 vs rokky showmatch Visual style inspired by minimalistic architecture concepts like yeah Im aware that I have a lot of cut corners but I guess you dont run with such high speeds at home. Big props to F14m3z for all the help, the broken tiles on the MH or the RA ledge are basically his creations, he also helped out with many other improvements.

    Disorder 1v1 (v 0.5)

    Hey, decided to take another crack at map creation after tossing out a number of unsatisfactory attempts some time ago The map is available here Update: The map is still not quite ready for an art pass, but lighting is now far enough along to include lightmaps. Also added a room to join Green Armor and Red Armor, which cases the red room to feel a lot less uselessly large Still looking for feedback on item placement and overall layout. I'll be casually making the lighting less blocky over the next little while and would like to get the gameplay portion of the map locked down before I start going hardcore on the aesthetic portion. Still kinda wary/not totally happy with the lowest level of the middle room. I'm also probably going to do something with the Yellow armor room just outside of the Mega and maybe rethink my armor setup in eneral Special thanks to Temen for testing and feedback on every revision thus far
  15. I was thinking about ways to make playing duel PUBs more interesting and had this idea. You and 8 other players are matched up in a bracket. The first 4 games start at the same time so as soon as they are completed it moves on to the second round of 2 games. Then the final round. Making it only a up-to 30-40 minute commitment. You can also have a game for third place that happens during the final match. Example:

  23. I played a couple of games on Turbo #1 on thcdm13. Two games in a row i spawned with all weapon and full YA armor. I also spawned where i stood during the countdown, first i spawned at the Bolt Rifle, and second time I spawned on the Plasma Rifle. I guess you can find the demos on reflexfps/replays but they aren't uploaded yet. The matches happened 12th of July, and the matches were between Bjarke and Miha on thcdm13.
