Play workshop map without creating a server

Question

Hi Everyone,

I subscribed to a map using steam workshop which I'll be using for training. Right now, the only way that I know to enter that map is by hosting a game and putting a password so that no-one can get in, so that I can be by myself. But, the server limits the option to 10 minutes. I don't want to take up a server slot, since I'm just training.

What is the correct way to play this map by myself, locally?

Any time you're playing on a map, even if you don't have your ethernet cable plugged in, you're playing on a server. If you're just playing on your own server, it's just running on your PC so no need to worry about taking up a slot in a training server.

If you'd like to practice by yourself with basically infinite time limit, you can go into console and type sv_timelimitoverride 9999 which will give you a very long timelimit. From there, you click "Play", go to the "Host Game" tab, select the map and gamemode you'd like to play on and click "Start"
